Imphal, December 05 2019:
Manipur People Against Citizenship Amendment Bill (MANPAC) has announced that the 9 member delegate, who met Union Home Minister Amit Shah regarding CAB, will discuss the details of the meeting and the current situation at Khwairamband Keithel tomorrow.
A statement issued by the convenor of MANPAC conveyed that as soon as the 9 member delegate of the association reach Imphal from Delhi, they will head to Khwairamband Keithel and meet the Imas, women vendors and the people, and announce the details of their (MANPAC) meeting with Amit Shah on CAB.
It continued that the next day, on December 7, it will organise a public meeting for all the political parties, CSOs, student unions, women organisations and people and appealed to one and all to take part in the meeting so as to take a united resolve to save the State from CAB.
It explained that as there is no assurance that the CAB will not be extended to Manipur, it will be a huge loss for all if the Bill is passed in the Parliament without any conditions for Manipur.
MANPAC further explained that as CAB might be produced in the Parliament by December 9, it is high time for the people, CSOs and the stakeholders to come together and take a stand against the Bill.
