CM launches processed food products

Chief Minister N Biren Singh today launched a variety of processed food products under the scheme 'Value Chain Marketing of Quality Local Horticulture Products through Brand Building Initiatives' .
The launching program was held at Darbar Hall, Chief Minister's Secretariat under the Department of Horticulture and Soil Conservation.
Addressing the formal function, Chief Minister N Biren Singh said, "Manipur is passing through troubled times.
Even then, we have to continue working towards development.
"We will meet all crises, and at the same time we cannot cease developmental works", he said.

Today the Government has set up cold storages in the State, he said, stressing on the importance of reducing wastage of locally grown fruits and vegetables.
Highlighting implementation of Vocal for Local in Horticulture Department and TRIFED in Forest Department, the Chief Minister stressed on the assistance provided to individuals and SHGs under these missions and schemes.
He also expressed satisfaction with the improvement in packaging and said today local products are being exported.
Biren also spoke of various schemes like Start-Up, One Family, One Livelihood etc which he said are being implemented successfully for promotion, support and assistance to entrepreneurs and SHGs in the State.
He further assured all possible help and assistance to the entrepreneurs of the State.
The formal function was attended by Water Resources Minister Awangbou Newmai, Education Minister Thounaojam Basanta Singh, MLA Kh Ibomcha, MLA Sapam Kunjakeswor, MLA M Rameshwar, Commissioner (Horticulture) T Pamei, officials of Horticulture Department and entrepreneurs.
During the programme, the entrepreneurs whose products were launched today also thanked and expressed gratitude to the Government and the department for providing the needed assistance.
The products launched today under the brand name MANIFRESH included Kachai lemon tea, dehydrated pineapple, Sirarakhong flakes, Sirarakhong powder, Sirarakhong whole dry, dry cake, lotus tea, lotus incense tea, Thambou chips, Thambou seasoning, Garcinia powder, amla powder, Chak-hao ladoo, Chak-hao cookies, Ragi gulla, Chakhao bujiya, Brocco-kies, Indian pennywort tea, orange jam, Garcinia Osmo-air dried, banana brew Passion fruit brew, rhododendron brew, Khasi cherry brew, plum brew, kiwi brew, wild olive brew, peach brew, wildapple brew, pineapple brew and mushroom brew.
