HC cancels bail granted to Col , party

The bail order granted to seven persons including former Defence PRO Col Ajay Chowdhry by the ND&PS Special Court following their arrest together with drugs containing Pseudoephedrine hydrochloride and worth Rs 25 crore has been cancelled by the Manipur High Court.
The bail order was cancelled by a Single Bench of the High Court today after hearing a criminal revision petition filed by the State Government on July 27 last.
The High Court directed that all the seven accused should surrender to the Court within seven days.
It also asked the NDPS Special Court to reconsider the bail order granted to the accused on July 27 .
Notably, the then PIB Defence Wing PRO Col Ajay Chowdhry, Indigo Airlines Assistant Manager Ng Brojendro, RK Babloo, Lunkhohao Haokip, Jangmingthang Tuboi and Letminlal Haokip were apprehended together with a huge consignment of drugs on February 24 this year by Thoubal commandos from Pallel.
Further, Seikholen Haokip was also arrested in connection with the same
drug smuggling case.
Three FIR cases were registered against them in Kakching police station Sections 140, 170, 465 and 34 of NDPS.
After they were first produced before the Court of CJM Thoubal which remanded to judicial custody, the accused were produced before the Special Court of NDPS.
They were released on bail by an order issued by the Special Court on July 12 .
