Kuki apex bodies submit memo to Amit Shah

Kuki Inpi Manipur (KIM), Kuki Students' Organisation (KSO), Kuki Chiefs' Association Manipur (KCAM) and Kuki Khanglai Lawmpi jointly a memorandum to Union home minister Amit Shah highlighting unending plights of the Kukis under the N Biren government and Meetei militia.
The joint memorandum placed a six-point demand to Union home minister Amit Shah for facilitating durable peace and ending the violence pending Separate Administration demand of the Kukis.
The demands include enhanced security measures to control and check subversive activities in vulnerable areas and deploy more Central security forces in the buffer zones in order to ensure security of the civilians; re-impose AFSPA in Manipur valley and initi ate stringent actions against cross-border outfits which are causing disturbances in the state; continue deployment of central forces including the Assam Rifles; strip all powers conferred on N Biren Singh and entrust competent Army officer (such as 3 Corps Commander) as the head of the Unified Command in order to build confidence and trust to facilitate negotiated settlement; immediately end aggression on Kuki territories by Meetei forces; and to thor -oughly probe the role of the state government in handing over arms and ammunition to Meitei militias from state's armouries and security establishments and to ensure full recovery of the looted arms' .
The Kuki organisations also demanded investigation into alleged nexus between Meetei secessionist groups and N Biren Singh.
