Imphal, July 16 2023:
Chingmeirong Apunba, a commemoration of clubs, singlup, and meira paibis of Chingmeirong, has declared an indefinite ban on all types of fund drives within the jurisdiction of Chingmeirong and sale of lands without their permission.
Addressing a press conference today in Imphal, Vikash Arambam, spokesperson of Chingmeirong Apunba, informed that this decision comes in response to reports of numerous private parties conducting fund drives in the name of relief measures from shops in the Chingmeirong area.
He also addressed the issue of land transactions, expressing concern that certain individuals with vested interests are engaged in buying and selling lands belonging to displaced individuals, which is deemed unacceptable by the Chingmeirong Apunba.

The spokesperson cautioned that anyone found violating the ban imposed by Chingmeirong Apunba would face consequences.
Vikash Arambam also made a plea to all the financial institutions and individuals involved in financial activities to refrain from collecting interest or capital until normalcy is restored.
Highlighting the Central Government's failure to restore peace in the State and silence of Prime Minister Modi on the ongoing unrest, he questioned whether the Central Government perceives the crisis as a Manipur Premier League and watches it unfold as a silent spectator.
He raised concerns about the rapid attacks by Kuki militants in the peripheral areas despite the deployment of a large number of central forces, suggesting that this raises suspicions about potential support for narco-terrorism from the Central Government.
In light of these concerns, Vikash called for the withdrawal of central forces if the Central Government is unable to protect civilians from Kuki militants.
He proposed declaring the ongoing unrest as a conflict between the Meitei and Kuki militants and suggested that the public would work towards devising a mechanism to restore peace in Manipur.
