Situation under control: Kuldiep Singh

Security advisor to the gov-emment of Manipur Kuldiep Singh said that the situation in the state by and large remained under control.
In a release, Kuldiep informed that there are reports of blockades along the Imphal-Dimapur National Highway-2 while also recalling the appeal of the Union Home Minister to the people to lift the blockade.
The security advisor referred to the Union Home Minister's tweet appealing to the people of Manipur is to lift the blockades at the Imphal-Di-mapur, NH-2 Highway, so that food, medicines, Petrol/Diesel and other necessary items can reach the people.
While expressing hope that the people will surely take into account the Home Minister's appeal and lift the blockade on the National Highway-2 at the earliest, Kuldiep Singh high-lighted that curfew relaxation has been made for 12 hours in the valley and 10 hours and 07 hours in the neighbouring hill districts.
During the last 24 hours, 23 more arms were been recov-ered making it total of 202 firearms, 252 rounds of am-munition and 92 explosives of all kinds recovered after the visit of Home Minister, Kuldiep informed, adding that, a total 01789 arms and 10,648 ammunition have been recov-ered till date.
"Situation in Manipur is com-pletely peaceful.
There has been no incident of violence since Friday evening," Kuld-iep Singh, a former DG of the CRPF, told PTI.
He said the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) and the Army have been patrolling in the buffer zones between Manipur's valleys and hills and peace prevails in those areas.
"People have been cooperating fully after the home minister's visit.
General public, civil so-ciety organisations and prom-inent citizens are working in close coordination with the administration and helping restore peace," he said.
