CM, CS, NPP leaders meet Governor

Chief Minister N Biren Singh and chief secretary Dr Vineet Joshi held a meeting with Governor Anusuiya Ui-key Raj Bhavan on Sunday and took stock of the prevailing law and order situation in the state.
During the meeting, the Governor enquired about the security measures taken up to maintain law and order and discussed on process for resto-ration of peace and normalcy.
She also enquired about the arrangements made by the district administrations for distributing relief materials to the violence affected displaced people staying in various relief camps and also asked the chief minister for taking up appro-priate steps to reach out to the affected people.
The meeting dwelt upon the formation of Peace Commit-tee as suggested by the Union Home Minister during his visit to the state.
On the other hand, a delega-tion of National People's Party (NPP) led by National vice pres-ident and former deputy chief minister Yumnam Joykumar Singh along with former min-ister L Jayantakumar Singh and 4 others called on the Governor at Raj Bhavan on Sunday.
The team apprised the Gov-ernor about the prevailing de-teriorating law and order situ-ation in the state and urged to take appropriate steps to con-tain violence and restoration of normalcy and peace.
The political delegation expressed their anguish over the repeated incidents of violence and arson in many parts of the state and also requested the Governor for taking up necessary se-curity measures to save lives and properties.
The team also submitted a memorandum to the Governor.
The Governor assured the delegation that steps are being taken up to prevent violence.
She also appealed to them to contribute in restoring nor-malcy and peace in the state.
