Imphal, June 04 2023:
Multiple winners of Mr World bodybuilding title Arambam Boby has expressed gratitude towards the Union Home Minister Amit Shah for his concerted efforts to bring back peace in Manipur again.
Talking to the DIPR, the bodybuilder welcomed the four-day visit of the Union Home Minister to bring back peace in Manipur.
"It's appreciable that he met the cso leaders and common people from both the two communities and heard their grievances.
I am hopeful and have high expectations from him in his next visit, which he said will come after next ten days, that a proper and final decision to ensure peace will be made," he opined.
Arambam Boby further said, "This issue is not based on re-ligion neither between Hindus and Christians but is due to misunderstandings between two particular communities." He said, "I think the root cause of the current issue is the very good initiative of the state government to destroy poppy plantation and poppy trade.
Moreover, the government had taken up strict regulations to protect forest lands in hill areas as some people have incessantly started destroying forest lands to plant poppy and to illegally inhabit in the areas.
Plus, the government has taken up strin-gent actions against the influx of militants from Myanmar side to the state.
These three factors become the reason for these series of violence and the issue." Arambam Boby is an Indian bodybuilder from Manipur, who won his first Mr World title in the year 2010 in the 75 kg category in Varanasi.
Since then, he has been continuously representing India.
Arambam also won three Mr South Asia titles, five Mr Asia titles, eight Mr World titles and 12 Mr India titles.
