According to a source, a team of MLAs led by minister Govindas, including MLAs Karam Shyam, S Premchan-dra, Tongbram Robindro and Th Shanti have been visiting the relief camps set up in vio-lence-affected areas of Tang-jeng and Napat in Bishnupur district and braving the night with the people.
On Sunday, the team visited other areas of the district and will be spend-ing the night with people to share solidarity with their plight and inconveniences and address their sufferings.
Speaking on the sidelines of one such visit, minister Govindas said that the people of Manipur have been exert-ing pressure for withdrawal of So0 with Kuki militants.
As such, he assured to consult with chief minister N Biren and then urged the MHA to withdraw the same.
He also assured to look into upgrading the Manipur Police outpost in Leingangtabi of Bishnupur district to a full-fledged police station so as to further expand its coverage area.
While cautioning all concern not to test the limit of tolerance of the combative Meetei peo-ple, the minister said the Meetei community has been advocating peaceful co-existence not out of fear but due to the strong urge to make Manipur liveable for all the indigenous communities.
