Meet resolves to restrict movement of AR

While stating that all trust on Assam Rifles has been lost, a meeting of local clubs, meira paibi and organisations from Yairipok Khoirom to Wangkhem hosted by Bamol Leikai Youth Club Yairipok (BYCY) on Sunday resolved to impose restriction in the movement of Assam Rifles until the para- military force takes initiatives to rebuild the trust.
Speaking in this regard, Kekru Meira Paibi member Longjam Sangeeta questioned whether Meeteis are not In-dians and why Assam Rifles is treating them unfairly amid the communal conflict.
There is no Meetei village protected by Assam Rifles not burnt, she condemned.
Enquiring why Assam Ri-fles refused transportation of edibles for the state's forces protecting the peripheral areas, she made it clear that movement of Assam Rifles in Yairipok and nearby areas would be prohibited.
Expressing concern for the state forces posted in Moreh who are facing acute shortage of food and water, she alleged that the government is ignor-ing their precarious condition and remarked the government would be held responsible in case the state's forces face unwanted situation.
The meeting was attended by representatives of SLGC Si-phai Leikai, BYFY Bishnunaha, SEDO Yairipok Bazar, KYCY Yairipok Kekru, YSC Bamol Leikai, DLC Bishnunaha Mayai Leikai and Khoirom and meira paibi Lup of Kekru, Bamol Leikai, Yairipok Bazar, Bish-nunaha and Saiphai Leikai.
Condemning the unfair treatment by Assam Rifles in the communal conflict, aggrieved locals staying overnight on the roads and restricting movements of As-sam Rifles in Kakching district including Kakching Lamkhai, Kakching !rum Mapal, Sumak Leikai, Kakching Keithel, Ka-kching Chumnang, Keirak, Hiyanglam Wabagai Lamkhai Keithel, Hiyanglam, Wabagai, Sekmaijin, Lamjao,Laimanai, Langmeidong, Thounaojam Yangdong, Elangkhanpok-pi, Thongjao, Waikhong, Kakching Khunou Lamkhai, Umathel, Wangjing Khunou, Wangoo, Pangantabi, Kor-shantabi, Tangjeng Khunou, Wapokpi and Sugnu among others.
The protestors shouted slogans including 'Go back Assam Rifles', 'Remove Assam Rifles', 'Resign 50 MLAs' and 'Long live Manipur' among others.
