RPF clarifies on Sept 17 Kamjong incident

Imphal, September 23 2022: With reference to the demise of three cadres of the outfit's armed wing PLA namely captain Lucky, captain Sanjit and captain Ayangba in an incident in Kamjong district on September 17, the proscribed Revolutionary People's Front (RPF) placed its own version of the incident to the people.

According to an RPF statement issued by its deputy secretary publicity Roben Khuman, the outfit is compelled to give its own version about the incident to the people to clear doubts and confusions created by dissimilar reports filed by differ ent media houses.

Reports filed by some media houses even had contents which could create communal tension among different communities and the outfit considers it very important and accordingly issued its own true version of the incident.

Some media houses reported that the three PLA cadres were killed in a pre-planned ambush carried out by a revolutionary group but the fact is the trio got killed in an attack by personnel of 21 Para SF, 5 AR and a group of mercenaries as part of their efforts to suppress the revolutionary movement, the RPF statement said.

Different agencies of government of India have been using both overt and covert strategies to suppress people of Manipur and the region with attempt to create division among different communities one important strategy for the Indian agents.

Divide and rule policy being inseparable trait for colonialists, Indian administrators have been adopting a policy to create communal tension/clash amongst revolutionaries and among different communities as well.

Even though colonialism is now being regarded as the most un-civilised practice, India continues to pursue the out-dated practice which is well understood by the people of Manipur and region, the RPF statement said.

In the history of sovereign Manipur, there had been no communal enmity and conflict or clash resulting out of such enmity/conflict but communal based positions are being developed after Manipur was forcibly merged to India, the RPF said and maintained it never supports people who work on communal lines but has been keeping strict vigil on activities of people who harbour sectarian ideologies.

Manipur is not a land where one particularly community settles but many minority communities have been living together peacefully since time immemorial with love and understanding.

From the time of sovereign Manipur ruled by the kings to the first democratic election held after the British left, representatives of both hills and valley took part in the nation's administration.

However, India has been spewing poison among different communities of Manipur ever since the annexation and continuing to whip up communal tension and enmity.

Manipur has composite history and ongoing revolutionary movement too is a composite struggle.

Having understood this fact, India attempted to break apart communal harmony specifically to slow down the revolutionary struggle but people of Manipur have now fully acknowledged India's treacherous design and India's effort will not be successful, the RPF said.

The RPF statement further said that the revolutionary movement being carried forward by the outfit is not for one particular community but for the whole of Manipur.

Being people's movement and having trust in the outfit, the ongoing revolutionary struggle is being joined by people of different communities irrespective of differences in religion, caste or creed.

Though no particular community has intentionally stood and worked against RPF's revolutionary movement, some greedy people who have no patriotic spirit and believe in earning easy money are being utilised by India to work against the revolutionary movement.

These veiy few people who have fallen into India's trap can do anything for money and it is not difficult for India to find them and use them as weapon against the revolutionary movement.

This handful of people could belong to any community settling in Manipur but it is not a wise step for RPF to name community they belong to merely because of the selfish motives of some members of that community, the statement said.
