Revised final result of SSC-GD 2022 released
Source: Chronicle News Service

Imphal, March 22 2024: The revised final result of General Duty (GD) Constable Recruitment 2022 for Manipur conducted by Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has been declared on Thursday with 389 candidates passing the test.

The result of the said recruitment exam was declared for other states on August 20, 2023, but for Manipur the same was kept in abeyance before its announcement on March 15, only for the SSC to cancel the result on March 18 citing clerical error.

As the earlier result only showed successful candidature of tribal candidates, many non-tribal candidates who reportedly cleared medical and physical test of the recruitment lodged complaint to officials concerned, leading to SSC cancelling the result citing mistake.

It may be mentioned that total vacancy for SSC-GD is 49,590 for all India, out of which 597 posts are for Manipur.

Presently, 45,217 candidates have been provisionally recommended for the posts, while candidature of 1337 has been withheld.

The recruitment was conducted for enrolment as Constable (general duty) in the CAPFs, Secretariat Security Force (SSF), Rifleman (general duty) in Assam Rifles and Sepoy in Narcotics Control Bureau.

The final result was processed for 49,590 vacancies (except 597 vacancies for Manipur) wherein 45,217 candidates (40,229 male and 4,988 female) were provisionally recommended for appointment whereas the candidature of 1,337 candidates was kept withheld.

"At the time of declaration of the said final result of the aforesaid examination, the physical and medical tests could not be conducted due to the law and order situation in Manipur.

"Therefore, the result for the state of Manipur for 597 vacancies could not be declared on August 20, 2023 .

Subsequently, the final result for the state of Manipur was declared on the website of the Commission on March 15, 2024," agencies quoted SSC officials as saying.

The physical and medical tests in respect of the candidates belonging to Manipur had been conducted in multiple phases due to the law and order situation in the state, it said.

The SSC said that while processing the result dated March 15, 2024, the data pertaining to one phase was inadvertently missed.

Accordingly, the final result declared on March 15, 2024, for Manipur was withdrawn vide the Commission's notice dated March 18, 2024."Based on a comprehensive review of the complete data, the discrepancy has been rectified and changes have been effected in the result declared on March 15, 2024," it said in the notice dated March 21, 2024.A total of 597 vacancies for Manipur have been considered for allocation to the Border Security Force (BSF), Central Industrial Security Force (CISF), Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB), Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP), Assam Rifles, Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) and the SSF, the notice said.

The SSC is one of the largest recruiting agencies of the government with its main mandate being recruitment to all Group B (non-gazetted) and Group C (non-techni-cal) posts in various central ministries and departments.
