Imphal, June 17 2021: The state on Thursday reported 495 new positive cases of Covid-19 out of 5884 samples tested along with 13 fatalities.

Though the daily positivity rate remains under 10 per cent, it is still high with Thursday recording 8.41 per cent.

With the addition of 495 new cases and 458 recoveries, the active caseload is at 9102 on Thursday out of which 2902 are in home isolation and the remaining 6200 undergoing treatment in healthcare facilities and CHICs.

Out of 689 patients in hospitals and 935 in Covid Care Centres, 395 patients (including 33 post Covid patients) are on medical support and 36 on ventilator support.

The figure does not include patients' data from JNIMS and I-land hospitals.

As of Wednesday 10 pm, 548 beds are vacant in Covid hospitals including district hospitals and some CHCs.

The State Level Covid-19 Deaths Audit Committee has reported 13 (8 male & 5 female) Covid-19 deaths in the last 24 hours.

The district wise fatalities are Imphal West (2), Imphal East (6), Kakching (1), Bishnupur (1), Kangpokpi (2) and Ukhrul (1) .

Four each of them died at JNIMS & Shija Hospitals, three at RIMS, and one each at Raj Medicity & DH Ukhrul.

The cumulative number of deaths is now 1021.Seven of the 13 victims were in the age group of 60 years and below.

Six victims did not have any co-morbid conditions.

Three died within 24 hours of reaching hospital and two within 72 hours.

According to official report, the 495 new cases included 492 people (266 male & 226 female) from among the general population and 3 personnel from Central Armed Police Force (CAPF).

Their samples were tested at RIMS (20), JNIMS (20), District Hospitals (313) and other testing centres (142).The positive cases from among the general population are from Imphal East (106), Imphal West (1 43), Thoubal (45), Bishnupur (48), Kakching (18), Ukhrul (19), Churachandpur (54), Chandel (4), Senapati (3), Tamenglong (29), Tengnoupal (10), Kangpokpi (6) and Pherzawl (7).All necessary measures like containment and contact tracing are in place.

Out of the 458 patients discharged in the last 24 hours, 376 are from home isolation, five from RIMS, one from JNIMS and the rest 76 from other Covid care facilities.

The cumulative number of positive cases has reached 62,343 (general population - 58,547 and CAPF personnel - 3,796).Number of recovered cases is 52,220 (general population - 48,459 and CAPF personnel - 3,761) and number of active cases is 9,102 (general population - 9,072 and CAPF personnel - 30).The recovery rate is 83.76 per cent.

In the last 24 hours, 1856 D-type Oxygen cylinders and 432 B-type Oxygen cylinders have been made available to different health facilities.

District Hospitals and government institutions have 426D, 99B filled cylinders while district/sub-division wise stock position is Bishnupur (68D,0B) Chandel (30D,7B), CCpur (66D,0B), Senapati (49D,0B), Thoubal (77D,34B), Ukhrul (34D,15B), Tamenglong (24D, 10B), Jiribam (33D,8B), Moreh (16D,1B), Kamjong (3D,1B), Kangpokpi (4D,0B), Kakching (14D,21B), Noney (2D,0B) and Pherzawl (6D,2B).In CCCs, 187D and 56B filled cylinders were made available on Thursday.

As of Wednesday, 4,83,335 individuals have been vaccinated against Covid-19 while 81,849 have completed second dose.

Meanwhile, 60 new positive cases were detected from 184 samples tested in Kakching district on Thursday.

Out of them, 46 cases were detected at government RAT Centre and 14 at Jivan Hospital.

One positive person is from Thoubal district while the remaining 59 are residents of Kakching district.

As per data maintained by The People's Chronicle based on IDSP and CCR reports, number of total cases in different districts are Imphal West (22,068), Imphal East (14,164), Thoubal (5011), Churachandpur (4839), Kangpokpi (1587), Tamenglong (2022), Bishnupur (3671), Senapati (1350), Ukhrul (1307), Kakching (2867), Chandel (1071), Noney (547), Tengnoupal (616), Jiribam (693), Kamjong (428) and Pherzawl (102) .

Fatality counts in different districts are Imphal West (378), Imphal East (269), Thoubal (96), Churachandpur (81), Kangpokpi (26), Tamenglong (8), Bishnupur (67), Senapati (4), Ukhrul (15), Kakching (51), Chandel (14), Noney (2), Tengnoupal (4), Jiribam (3), Kamjong (3) and Pherzawl (0) .

However, the figure does not match with data released by CMOs of some districts.

Data analysed by this daily shows that the rate of infection remains 20,091 confirmed cases per million population (based on projected population of 31,03,000 as per NCP report) against the national average of 21,355 CPM.

Test rate has improved to 2,71,011 tests per million population against the national average of 2,76,558 TPM.

Case fatality rate rose to 1.64 per cent.

In the past 24 hours, 5884 samples were tested and the single day positivity rate was 8.41 per cent while the cumulative positivity rate stands at 7.41 per cent.
