Bandh ends peacefully

Imphal, January 22 2024:
The 48 hours bandh called by the JAC Against the Brutal Killing of Takhellambam Manoranjan Singh concluded today at 5 am, without any major untoward incident.
Notably, Takhellambam Manoranjan of Thiyam Konjil was killed when Kuki militants attacked Meitei villages of Kangchup Chingkhong, Imphal West in the intervening night of January 17 and 18, 2024 .
Apart from Takhellambam Manoranjan, another village volunteer too sustained injuries in the attack.
Condemning the brutal killing and putting a number of demands to the State Government, the JAC called a 48 hours bandh from 5 am of January 20, 2024 .
In a release, the JAC expressed gratitude to all the CSOs, clubs, organisations and Meira Paibis for their whole hearted cooperation to the bandh.
JAC also cautioned that due to lack of positive response from the State Government, it will launch a more effective form of agitation soon after consulting with the CSOs, clubs, Meira Paibis and the public.
