CM, Governor extend Gaan Ngai greetings

Governor Anusuiya Uikey and chief minister N Biren extended greetings and best wishes to the people of Manipur particularly Kabui/ Zeliangrong brethren on the joyous and auspicious occasion of Gaan Ngai.
In her message, Governor Anusuiya Uikey stated that Kabui community celebrates Gaan Ngai for paying obeisance and homage to those who left this temporal world in the year before.
The festival also symbolises bidding adieu to the old year gone and heralding a new year full of hope and aspiration.
"Let us all join the celebration of Gaan Ngai in a spirit of friendship and brotherhood with traditional gaiety and devotion and ring in the New Year for a peaceful and prosperous Manipur," she said.
Meanwhile, chief minister N Biren stated that as the state passes through a tough phase, the thanksgiving spirit of the festival has a special relevance today, the relevance that of the enduring human resilience in the face of the challenges for the preservation and survival of a community.
"May the biggest cultural and religious post-harvest festival of Zeliangrong community spread the message of unity, love and brotherhood amongst all the communities in our state.
My special prayers for peace in Manipur," Biren wished.
