Imphal, January 22 2024:
While lauding the people for supporting the 48-hour bandh called by it, the JAC against the brutal killing of Manoranjan Singh has stated that it will launch more intense agitation in collaboration with CSOs, clubs, meira paibi and the people to denounce indifferent attitude of the government to its demands.
In a release, JAC convenor Chanam Sanayaima Singh contended that with the government authorities undermining its demand in-spite of imposing the 48-hour bandh, which concluded on Monday, launch of more intense protests will be explored after discussing the matter with all concerned.
Moreover, there is no change in the demands of the JAC including handing over the charge of unified command to the chief minister, abrogation of SoO agreement signed with Kuki militant groups, implementation of NRC and not claiming the body of martyred Manoranjan till an understanding is reached between the JAC and the government, among others, he added.
