Security strengthened at foothills

In response to growing security concerns, a significant reinforcements of security forces have been deployed across the foothills and vulnerable areas of Manipur.
The move is made in the wake of a series of attacks carried out against both civilians and security forces by Kuki militants in the strife-torn State.
Approximately 1000 additional personnel are being strategically stationed in these vulnerable areas to conduct patrolling, thorough checks, and area domination operations.
The additional forces are being deployed at vulnerable areas in Imphal West, Imphal East and Bishnupur districts.
This heightened deployment is a proactive measure aimed at providing a sense of security to the public, especially those residing in the vulnerable foothill areas.
Additional security personnel are being deployed at Senjam Chirang to Khurkhul Maning Leikai, Kanto Sabal to Leimakhong, Khurkhul Park, Khurkhul Sevok, Laipat Parao, Co-operative Leimakhong, Pangal Tabi, Khongnangpokpi, Khurkhul Makha Leikai, Singda to T-Khul, Koutruk Ching Leikai, NSUI Campus, Phayeng Ching Khunnou, Kangchup Chingkhong and adjoining area, Kangchup Kharang, Tairenpokpi area, and Sangaithel Lamdong in Imphal West.
In Bishnupur district, additional forces are being deployed at , Laimanai and Shantipur, Tera Urak, Keinou Ayokpa School, PGCI Awang Leikai, Haotak � Khaloubi, Haotak Awang Leikai, Khaloubi, Haotak Tampha Khunou and Wangoo Naodakhong.
In Imphal East, additional forces are being deployed at Pukhao Tera Loukon, Khewa Phurju Loukon, Chanung Loukon, Leitanpokpi, Wakan, Sabungkhok, Seijang, Itham, Laikhong, Tumukhong, Moirangpurel, Sabungkhok Khunou and and CS Crossing.
The violent conflict in Manipur, since May 3, 2023 has killed over 200 persons.
