Noney gears up for Gaan Ngai, VBSY ends

All preparations and arrangements have been made for the celebration of State Level Gaan- Ngai Festival-2024 at Longjang village in Noney district on Tuesday.
The festival will kick off by performing the ritual of Joupan Keikhang (offering of holy wine to the Almighty) followed by Mai-Lapmei (extraction of sacred fire) and Ho-Hoing.
The festival will showcase the rich culture of the Zeliangrong community such as traditional song, traditional drum-beating, cultural dances, etc.
Meanwhile, the two-day Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra (VBSY), which was organised by Noney district administration at Longmai village on Sunday, concluded at Nungba SDO office complex on Monday.
The valedictory programme was attended by Noney DC Joseph Pauline Kamson and DLOs.
The event was organised to raise awareness about the various welfare schemes launched by the central government through outreach activities.
Departmental stalls were opened during the Yatra for extending benefits of these schemes to the public.
