Humanitarian aid extended to victims of conflict

Like Minded Group (LMG), Manipur in continuation of its philanthropic activities, provided monetary aid and edible items to the bereaved family of late Takhellambam Manoranjan who was killed brutally by Kuki terrorists at Kangchup Chingkhong on January 17 last.
A team of LMG led by its secretary Ojit Sorokhaibam and publicity secretary Rakesh Naorem visited the residence of Manoranjan at Thiyam Konjil and provided the monetary assistance and edible items to the bereaved family members and shared their pain and loss, said a press note by LMG, Manipur.
Speaking at the occasion, Rakesh Naorem expressed dismay that the Government has failed to end the communal crisis in the State which has been going on since May last year.

He maintained that Manipur, a relatively peaceful State where different indigenous communities coexisted peacefully is now filled with the hue and cry due to the prevailing conflict situation.
Many precious lives have been lost due to the atrocities of the Kuki terrorists and the bereaved family members are undergoing extreme pain mourning the untimely demise of their loved ones, he said.
Stressing that the innocent civilians are facing immense challenges owing to the tragic communal crisis, he urged the Government to take up immediate measures to end the prevailing conflict at the earliest in the larger interest of the State.
He also appealed to the Government to act in accordance with the wishes of the people and strive for restoration of peace and normalcy in crisis stricken Manipur.
Ojit Sorokhaibam while speaking at the occasion, recounted the supreme sacrifice made by braveheart Manoranjan while safeguarding the integrity of Manipur.
He also encouraged the family members to stay strong and positive amid these difficult times.
Meanwhile, Kakching Higher Secondary School Principal, Naorem Nomita Devi donated Rs 5,000 to the relief camp at Old Age Home Kakching in a bid to promote the welfare of displaced victims taking shelter in the camp.
On the other hand, Leishangthem Apunba Lup visited the residence of Manoranjan yesterday and provided edible items to his family members yesterday.
The team also provided edible items to the family members of Terakhong Makha Leikai Haotak victims who were killed mercilessly by Kuki terrorists while they were out to collect firewood to sustain their livelihood.
Leishangthem Apunba Lup further maintained that it will continue to extend all forms of support who have been sincerely working for protecting the unity and integrity of Manipur.
