New AMTUC unrelated with JAC: Secy

Imphal, July 27 2022: While clarifying that the recently established All Manipur Trade Union Council (AMTUC) is not related with it, Joint Administrative Council (JAC) of All Manipur Trade Unions' Council (AMTUC) and All Manipur Govt Employees' Organisation (AMGEO) has appealed to the new AMTUC, which is trying to imitate and misuse the name of the union of workers, employees and pensioners, to change its name.

In a release, JAC secretary general Th Momocha said that JAC of AMTUC and AMGEO, which has been working for the welfare of government employees, workers and pensioners, is an apex body bound by labour law since 1970 .

However, the recently established AMTUC is not a component of JAC and the said union tried to registrar at labour department, but was stopped by AMTUC unit of the JAC.

He further urged to visit the temporary office of the JAC located at veterinary department for relevant details on JAC of AMTUC and AMGEO.
