Imphal, April 13 2010:
The proscribed RPF has conveyed its heartfelt gratitude to all the people who came to the martyrs' memorial complex to pay homage to the departed souls on the sacred occasion of 'Martyrs' Day'.
Through a press release issued by its Publicity Secretary T Leisemba, the outfit remarked that the massive participation of people in today's memorial service just like the previous years has convinced that the RPF has been striding forward together with the people in the liberation movement.
Such support and solidarity shown by the people has inspired the PLA all the more to struggle with higher sacrificial spirit.
Reassuring the people on today's auspicious occasion that the party would always go together with the people, the outfit said that credit for the last 32 years of liberation movement should go to people's support and the struggle and sacrifice of PLA cadres.
Success or failure of a liberation movement depends on the people, it observed while declaring that PLA cadres are only national workers.
However, it is painful to note that a large number of people who came to offer tributes to the martyrs were forced to stand under the scorching sun by security forces for quite a long time in the name of verification.
What is more disheartening is that some people were forced to go back preventing them from paying homage at the memorial tomb, the outfit said.
It further conveyed gratitude to all those who contributed their mite in making the memorial service a success.
