MACS organises training

The Manipur State AIDS Control Society (MACS) has organised three batches of one day training of volunteers on inter personal communication from February 1 to 3 at the Youth Hostel, Khuman Lampak as part of the Multi Media Campaign.
A total of 11 volunteers from Nehru Yuva Kendra Sangathan from all the districts of Manipur participated in the training programmes.
The training programmes were organised with an objective to mobilise the youth by instilling knowledge of inter personal communication.
The volunteers were trained in the areas of, basics of HIV, vulnerability of youth regarding HIV and AIDS, testimonial sharing by person living with HIV/AIDS, life skills and inter personal communication.
The trained volunteers will conduct small group discussions in their respective localities to spread the message of HIV prevention.
N Saratchandra, President India AIDS Consortium and J Ruivah Zonal Director NYKS graced the opening ceremony as guest of honour and president respectively.
Dr Kh Pramodkumar, State Leprosy Officer, Dr M Birchandra, District AIDS Control Oficer, Imphal East, Dr LR Kom, Deputy Director MACS, H Pradeepkumar, Consultant Youth MACS and Kh Babita, UNDP, SPO conducted the training programme as resource persons.
Hawaibam Pradeepkumar, Consultant Youth MACS coordinated the training programme.
Participants also interacted with Mr Manipur Kh Pradipkumar who is also the brand ambassador of MACS during the training programme.
