Training program on FPO management hosted

A one-day training program on Farmer Producer Organization (FPO) management was hosted at the training hall of the Directorate of Horticulture and Soil Conservation, Sanjenthong Imphal today.
The training program was held as part of the Mission Organic Value Chain Development for North Eastern Region.
This initiative was orchestrated by the Diocesan Social Service Society (DSSS) in close collaboration with the support of the Manipur Organic Mission Agency (MOMA) .
The event was attended by the Chief Executive Officers (CEOs), Board of Directors (BODs), and key functionaries of 11 Farmer Producer Companies (FPCs) under DSSS, which have been promoted by MOMA.
The training sessions were led by resource person Donald Soubam, Project Officer at MOMA who delivered an insightful talk on the subject of Farmer Producer Companies and their business operations.
Following this, Dr Ak Somorjit Singh, Project Officer at MOMA, discussed the critical topic of Organic Pest Management.
The program featured case studies and business models from successful agricultural start-ups, shedding light on their practices and strategies.
Lourembam Tinibala Devi presented the case study and business model of Sahaja Organics Company, while Nurina Shahni shared insights on the business model of Ninjacart.
Awoyo Lungleng, Project Manager, DSSS, emphasized that the primary objective of this training program was to enhance the knowledge and skills of the key functionaries responsible for the effective management and operation of their respective FPCs.
Altogether, 46 participants attended the enriching FPO management training program.
