NEEPCO awards EPC contract for 300 MW of Solar projects

In a major thrust towards achieving Government of India's ambitious Renewable Energy capacity addition target and the goal of net zero by the year 2070, NEEPCO has awarded an EPC contract to develop 300 MW(Phase-I) ISTS connected Solar PV project at Bhanipura, Bikaner, Rajasthan.
The project will generate 762.30 million units in its first year of operation and 17631 million units in its entire life of 25 years, said a release.
It will be commissioned in 17 months and the power from this project shall be evacuated from the Bikaner-II Sub-Station of Powergrid.
While giving details about the first project of NEEPCO beyond the north eastern region, Hiten Bharali, Chief General Manager and Head of Renewable Energy informed that the project will be built at a cost of Rs.1585.49 crores.
NTPC Vidyut Vyapar Nigam Ltd.
has confirmed to purchase the entire power from this project at a mutually agreed tariff, he added.
Bharali further informed that the techno-commercial bids for another 300 MW (Phase-II) shall be opened shortly.
NEEPCO has a plan to start around 1500 MW capacity solar project during the current year., he added.
