Drug house busted, 10 held

Imphal, March 27 2015 : Ten drug users including two police personnel were hauled up and a house where the drugs were sold was busted during a drive conducted by members of the Khumidok Anti-Drug Village Committee today morning.

According to a member of the committee, the drive was conducted from the morning to make their locality a drug free zone.

The drive has been going on for some days now.

During the drive at the residence of one Md Ashraf 36 s/o Achou of Khumidok Sorak Mapal, around 10 people were found taking drugs at his residence.

However around seven of them including women and Md Ashraf managed to escape from the spot.

Quoting some of the over powered drug users, they buy heroin and SP capsules from Ashraf and take them at his own residence too.

Among the 10 arrested drug users two of them belong to Manipur police.

The drug users have been identified as Irom Tiken 35 s/o Ludha Singh of Pungdongbam a VDF personnel posted at Sekta VDF post, Paolalmom Vaiphei 27 of Happy Valley, Senapati district a Manipur police personnel now posted at Kangpokpi police station, Md Abdul Salam 19 s/o Nuruddin of Kairang Umang, Md Basir Ahmad 40 s/o Md Kutub of Mayang Imphal, Khuraijam Naocha 21 s/o Kh Shyam of Khurai Konsam Leikai, Chongtham Anand 25 s/o Ch Inao of Khurai Angom Leikai, Md Ithem 45 s/o Bashir Ahmad of Thoubal Moijing, Maibam Nanao 38 s/o Tombi of Phubala, Takhelambam Boi 35 s/o T Sarat of Uripok and Khaidem Markand 30 s/o Kh Ito of Kongpal Khaidem Leikai.

They have been handed over to Heingang police station for necessary action.
