Imphal, June 26 2023: ICFAI University, Tripura today organised a blood donation camp at RIMS Blood Bank, Imphal under the theme, "Meitei Pokpi Emagidamak" .

Speaking to media persons, ICFAI University Tripura, Assistant Manager, S Ajit shared that the conflict which broke out on May 3 last has displaced thousands of people and injured many innocent civilians.

He continued that the blood donation camp was conducted to help the people who have been injured during the present violence and are in need of blood for medical treatment.

He expressed his gratitude to residents of Oinam Sawombung, Rural Services Agency Nambulane and RIMS Blood Bank for their support in making the camp a success.

Ajit also mentioned that volunteers will donate about 30 units of blood during the camp.

In continuation of the humanitarian aid extended to the people affected by the ongoing conflict, Committee on Present Issue Manipur (COPIM) today distributed relief materials and organised free medical camps at various places.

In a release, COPIM informed that relief materials was provided at the shelter camp opened in Mangolnganbi College, Ningthoukhong while free medical camps were held at the shelter camps set up in Hiyangthang K.P College, KSYC and Mekola Hr Secondary School.

During the medical camp, a team led by Y Inaocha, assistant secretary organisation AMUCO; O Dilip, vice president Irabot Foundation Manipur; S Roma, publicity secretary Poirei; and Ayush Director Dr Bishwanath provided free health check ups and medicines to the children, pregnant women and senior citizens taking refuge at the shelter camps.

Moreover, to help the people displaced by the present unrest, Rotary Club of Imphal, Rotary International District 3240, distributed one set of TV, hand wash (40), toilet cleaning liquid (72), hand sanitizer (20) and vegetables at the shelter camp set up in Porompat Veterinary campus near Commando Complex, Imphal East.

In a release, Rotary Club of Imphal informed that earlier two water purification units, hand wash and floor cleaning liquid were also provided at two schools namely Yumnam Khunou Junior High School and Lilasingh Khongnangkhong High School under the clubs' Water & Hand Washing Project.

A team of Healing Lives, a prominent humanitarian foundation operating in the fields of Education, Agriculture, and Medical health, today visited the shelter camp set up at Pukhao Laipham Khunou and distributed much-needed relief materials.

The shelter camp located in Imphal East district is currently providing refuge to 112 inmates.

The dedicated team from Healing Lives arrived at the shelter camp with a range of essential relief items to help improve the living conditions of the inmates.

The items included polar blankets, umbrellas, edible supplies, and sanitary pads.
