Imphal, May 13 2022: A felicitation programme of Padmashri awardess of Manipur for the year 2022 cum a book release function was held at the central hall of DM College of Science today.

The function was organised by DM Community College / DDU Kaushal Kendra, DM College of Science, Dhanamanjuri University (DMU) in collaboration with Intellectual Forum of North East, Manipur Chapter.

The Padmashri awardees who were felicitated today were Lourembam Bino from Singjamei Mathak Thokchom Leikai, Konsam Ibomcha from Kongba Nandeibam Leikai and Moirangthem Muktamani from Kakching Moirangthem Leikai.

The programme was graced by Education Minister Thounaojam Basanta, Vice-chancellor of DMU, Professor N Rajmuhon, VC of Manipur University, Professor N Lokendra and principal of DM College of Science, Dr M Bhubaneshwari as the presidium members.

A book titled "Women Entrepreneurs and AtmaNirbhar Manipur" edited by Shukhdebe Sharma Hanjabam, Aheibam Koireng and Sadam Hanjabam was also released.

Later a newly constructed class room of DM Community College was inaugurated.

Speaking at the occasion, the Education Minister said that he is trying his level best to strive for a progressive and dynamic education system in the State and to bring in a healthy educational atmosphere.

Suggestions are being considered from different intellectuals, CSOs and experts for the same, he added.

He went on to state that organising such a felicitation programme in the college will inspire the students to strive for the better.
