Thoubal, September 26 2022: Meira Paibis of Langathel Thingel Leikai staged a sit-in today to protest the placing of a Chinese hand grenade at the residence of Puyam Tenden by unknown miscreants on September 25 .

A Chinese hand grenade was found at the verandah of Puyam Tenden (54) of Langathel Thingel Leikai, Thoubal district under Khongjom police station on September 25 .

Speaking to media persons, Puyam Ongbi Leibi, wife of Puyam Tenden, informed that her eldest left home at a very young age and never came back.

Alleging that army personnel often came to their house in civilian fatigue to enquire about her eldest son, Leibi urged all concerned to stop harassing them in the future.

She also mentioned that her husband is currently bed-ridden after suffering a stroke.

Leibi further appealed to all concerned to stop harassing her family and clarify why the hand grenade was planted at her home.

Placards with the slogans, "We want to live in peace", "We condemn placing of bomb in residential area", etc were used at the protest.
