Traffic control police conducts awareness drive

Imphal, January 16 2023: The Traffic Control Police, Imphal East carried out an awareness drive at the surrounding areas of Khurai Lamlong Keithel today as a part of the ongoing National Road Safety Week.

A team of Traffic Control police personnel led by Additional SP (Traffic) Keisham Bijoykumar sensitized the roadside vendors and passersby on road safety practices and its importance using loudspeakers and placards.

Speaking in connection with the awareness drive, Keisham Bijoykumar said that those who are driving and the road side vendors in particular should atleast have basic awareness about the road safety measures.

He sought support and cooperation from the public to ensure effective implementation of the measures taken up by the traffic control police.

Such measures will be futile without the support of the public, he added.

Meanwhile, a similar awareness drive was also conducted at Mantripukhri area by traffic control police along with the support of the truckers.

The awareness drive at Mantripukhri was attended by Traffic Control Police SP Wungpam Kasar; Additional SPs Keisham Bijoykumar and A Debananda and All Manipur Road Transport Drivers and Motor Workers Union general secretary Maimom Anil Meitei among others.
