CADA's awareness campaign on substance abuse continues

Coalition Against Drugs and Alcohol (CADA)'s awareness campaign on the role of the public to check the rampant use of drugs and other intoxicants during elections were held at Bishnupur and Kakching districts today.
CADA in a press release said that it has been organising the awareness campaign in view of the menace caused by the widespread use of drugs and other intoxicants resulting in incidence of violence related with election in the State.
An awareness programme cum public discussion was held at the Bishnupur Ward no 9 Panthoibi Community Hall organised by CADA in association with Thinungei Apunba Meira Paibi Lup.
The programme was attended by Huiningsungbam Racheshwori, Meira Paibi leader, Sorokhaibam Amusana, Advisor, CADA Bishnupur District Committee and Hijam Priyokumar, president CADA as the presidium members while Geetchandra Mangang, Secretary General, CADA attended as the resource person.
Similarly, a public discussion programme was also organised at Wabagai Keithel Macha in Kakching district jointly organised by CADA Kakching District Committee and Hiyanglam Waikhom Leikai Meira Paibi.
The public discussion programme was conducted to discuss the issue of substance abuse especially during the polls and to plan measures accordingly to prevent any unwanted outcome in future.
The said programme was attended by Wahengbam Sorojini, Meira Paibi leader and Sorokhaiba Nena, president of CADA Kakching District Committee as presidium members while Dipanjit Ningthoujam, vice president CADA attended as the resource person, added the press release.
