Mushroom training programme organised

Thoubal, February 05 2024: A one-day mushroom training programme was held today at the office of Prem Dhara located at Heirok Part II Bazar jointly organised by Prem Dhara and Loushang Farmers Producer Company, Bashikhong.

The training programme was organised for the villagers to help them become mushroom farmers thereby generating a regular source of income through mushroom cultivation, said a press release by Prem Dhara.

Speaking at the occasion, Ningombam Chingkhamba who is successfully taking up mushroom cultivation said that one can easily generate huge income by growing mushrooms without putting in much physical labour.

He maintained that one can successfully take up mushroom farming and enhance their economic status.

Growing mushrooms will not only increase one' s income but will eventually aid in the State's economy, he said.

Lousang Farmer Producer Company Limited CEO Hijam Thoibana highlighted the importance of taking proper care from the initial stages of cultivation while speaking about how to grow mushrooms and relevant precautionary measures needed to be taken up.

He also demonstrated the steps and stages of mushroom cultivation to the participants and conducted a practical session with them.

The CEO also assured to provide platforms for the sale of mushrooms grown by farmers of Heirok.
