District level youth festival held

Ukhrul, November 16 2023: Nehru Yuva Kendra (NYK), Ukhrul organised a one day district level youth festival / Yuva Utsav 2023- India @ 2047 under the theme "Panch Pran" at Town hall in Kamjong District Headquarters.

Chief Executive Officer, HPFC Ltd, under MOMA, Wungreithan RA graced the occasion as the chief guest of the festival and declared the festival open.

Speaking on the occasion, Wungreithan spoke on the roles and responsibility of youths to achieve the national target to become a 'developed nation' by 2047.She urged the youths not to indulge in drugs and other unwanted social activities.

Youths must show enthusiastic spirit of volunteering in social duty to pave the way in shouldering social responsibilities, she added.

Meanwhile, coordinator of NYK, Worchipem AC highlighted the main objectives of celebrating Yuva Utsav under the banner Panch Pran is to take India forward through celebration of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav.

He mentioned that Panch pran will help in exploring the potential of youths by organising youth festivals.

Solomon Raising who attended as the guest of honour exhorted the youths to cultivate the good habit of participating in competitions so as to improve themselves and strive for successful educational careers.

The one day youth festival witnessed a myriad of competitive events for young artists, writers, photography, declamation and cultural activities.

Students above the age of 15 years of four educational institutions of Kamjong Headquarters namely St Peter School; Lhingkim Memorial Academy, Kamjong Hr Sec School and Compassion English High School participated in the competitions held today.
