Chief Minister fetes Agniveer recruits

Imphal, February 16 2023:
Chief Minister N Biren Singh felicitated 22 youths of the State, who got selected for Agniveer 2022-23 at the Chief Minister's Secretariat today.
Rajya Sabha MP Leishemba Sanajaoba; Public Health Engineering Minister Leishangthem Susindro Meitei; DIG, 22 Sector Assam Rifles Brigadier Bikram Saini and army officers also attended the programme among others.
Interacting with the Agniveer recruits, N Biren Singh motivated them and appealed to them to render their service selfless for the Nation, setting aside all forms of differences.
He further assured that after completing their period of service as Agniveers, the State will provide them employment opportunities in Government jobs.

He also extended gratitude to Brigadier Bikram Saini and his team for their initiatives of providing pre-recruitment training to the youths thereby helping them in their selection.
The Chief Minister further lauded the far-sighted vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to recruit youths in the Indian Armed Forces through the Agnipath Scheme, adding that such an initiative would make the Indian Army stronger.
Appointment letters were handed over to the selected youths by the Chief Minister during the programme.
