Poll 2022: Electoral campaign picks up pace for 2nd phase

Kak/Spi/Thb, March 02 2022: With just days away from the second phase of 12th Manipur Legislative Assembly Election 2022, electioneering has gathered momentum with candidates stepping up campaigning in their respective constituencies on Wednesday.

KAKCHING
A publicity cum election campaign for Y Roma Devi, Communist Party of India candidate of Kakching Assembly Constituency was carried out in Kakching.

People came out in hundreds to support the campaign in various parts of the constituency including Pallel, Sora, Irengband and Kakching.

Leaders of the party including Dr M Nara, L Sotinkumar, Ksh Shanta along with leaders of Manipur Nupi Marup, Th Sakhi, S Sorojini and L Sumatibala also took part in the campaign.

Speaking to media persons, Sotinkumar announced that if Y Roma Devi wins the forthcoming election, the party would work to construct an airport in Kakching and relocate the army to use the land in various development projects.

Similarly, the Chairel GP Level Election Campaign Committee also organised a political conference in Chairel Khongnang Leikai Community Hall under Sungnu AC.

It was attended by Wangoo Zilla Parishad Member, Moirangthem Melody Leima; Sugnu AC MLA, K Ranjit and leaders of Election Campaign Committee, Chairel.

On the occasion, K Ranjit highlighted the deplorable condition of the road stretch from Wabagai Lamkhai-Sungu to Chakpikarong via New Somtal which is considered as a life-line for a number of villages in Chandel district.

He also reacted sharply to the allegations made by the Chief Minister that the local MLA is liable for the condition of the said highway.

Congress Election Campaign Committee, Wangoo also organised a car rally in support of K Ranjit on Tuesday.

The rally participated by the people of Wangoo Gram Panchayat went from Wangoo Sandangkhong Ward No 2 to Chairel, Khongyam, Tangjeng, Sugnu Bazar, Serou, Sugnu Wapokpi, Korshantabi, Pangantabi, Kakching Khunou and Waikhong before culminating at Wangoo.

SENAPATI
Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM) also organised a one day political awareness programme at Senapati on Wednesday.

It was attended by Yanthungo Patton, BJP legislator leader and Deputy Chief Minister of Nagaland; Temjen Imna Along, State president BJP Nagaland and Minister, Higher Education & Tribal Affairs, Nagaland; Dr Longrineken, MLA and Advisor for NH, Treasuries & Accounts, Nagaland; H Haiying, MLA and Advisor for Prisons, Printing & Stationery, Nagaland; and Kazheto Kinimi, MLA and Advisor for CAWD & NSDMA, Nagaland.

Speaking on the occasion, Yuh Jonathan Tao, BJP candidate for 47-Karong AC announced that the party ticket was awarded to him to serve the people.

"However, I cannot do anything if the public do not elect me by casting their votes", said Yuh Jonathan while assuring that if he wins the election he would focus on creating job opportunities for unemployed youth and development in the region.

Temjen Imna Along urged the people to choose a representative who would represent their aspirations, dreams and hope.

Y Patton condemned the allegations made by the senior working president of NPF against PM Narendra Modi at Senapati Ground earlier.

Highlighting the lack of development in the district, he urged the people to support the BJP in the ensuing election to bring development and progress in the area.

THOUBAL
A Youth Conference to strengthen the BJP in 32-Wangkhem AC and ensure victory in the forthcoming election was held at Kiyam Siphai Khong Ahanbi community hall on Tuesday.It was attended by Rajya Sabha MP, Leisemba Sanajaoba; Yumnam Nabachandra, BJP candidate for Wangkhem AC; BJYM Thoubal District in-charge and State BJYM secretary, Sanayai Narengbam; BJYM Thoubal District general secretary, N Shyamkeshwor; BJYM Thoubal District vice president, Laishram Brojen; BJYM state spokesperson, Suresh and BJP Thoubal District IT convenor, Kh Roshan.

The conference participated by youths from various polling stations of Wangkhem AC was presided by BJYM state president, M Barish Sharma.

At the event, Leisemba Sanajaoba extended his appreciation to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for initiating various schemes for the welfare of youths.

Lauding the youths for actively taking part in the politics, the MP urged them to take a bid to ensure a corruption free election.

The conference also deliberated on the roles of youths in ensuring the victory of the BJP candidate in Wangkhem AC .
