DEO highlights poll preparedness in Kangpokpi

Kangpokpi, March 30 2024:
District Election Officer (DEO) Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kangpokpi, Mahesh Chaudhari, IAS, today conducted a press briefing at the Conference Hall, DC Office Complex.
Addressing the press briefing, the DEO said that the first-round training for polling personnel for the ensuing 18th Lok Sabha Elections, 2024 has been successfully concluded today.
He also highlighted the high number of female polling stations, numbering 77 in total.
The DEO highlighted the activities, preparedness and progress made by the Nodal Officers concerned in connection to the election.
He informed that the district election team is ensuring application of postal ballot for service voters, updation on PwD voters list, finalizing of communication plan, procurement of necessary EVMs and poll related materials from Election Office.
Highlighting the importance of maintaining a level playing field under the Model Code of Conduct (MCC) to ensure fairness among all parties, he said that steps have been taken to deface wall painting in both public and private spaces in line with the MCC.
Additionally, he said that preparations have been made for the EMTs team, the Magistrate and District Police.
He said the activities of Systematic Voters' Education and Electoral participation (SVEEP) program have been actively promoting voters' education in school, college and relief centres to encourage voters to come out in maximum number to vote.
