Dry Day declared on poll days

Imphal, March 30 2024:
The state government has declared "Dry Day" across the state on poll days of the 18th Lok Sabha election.
The restrictions will be effective from 4:00 PM on April 17 to 4:00 PM on April 19 (Phase I), and from 4:00 PM on April 24 to 4:00 PM on April 26 (Phase II), and on June 4 during counting of vote.
During the period, prohibition on the sale, distribution, or provision of spirituous, fermented, or intoxicating liquor substances will be enforced.
This directive encompasses all 57 liquor license holders, including exempted categories, within the state.
Moreover, during the 48 hours leading up to the conclusion of polling for elections in respective polling areas, no such liquor substances shall be sold or distributed in any public or private establishments, including hotels, eating houses, taverns, shops, or other places.
