Imphal, March 30 2024:
Manipur Youth League (MAYOL) has decided to start a leaflet campaign ahead of the Lok Sabha election to streamline the electoral politics in the State and help people choose the right representatives.
The organisation said that they will deliver a leaflet to the people which carries their messages to the voters under the topic "Meekhal kanglon chumthoknaba MAYOL na miyaamda pijaba paojel".
Speaking to the media at its office today, MAYOL president Asem Prince appealed to refrain from following any particular candidate of the upcoming Parliamentary election blindly but go through the content of their leaflet and choose the right representatives.
He sought support from the people to make the electoral politics in Manipur more efficient.
Saying that they will continue to hold street comer meetings and awareness programmes, Prince sought cooperation from the masses in their endeavour.
Prince continued that they decided to carry out the leaflet campaign to make sure the upcoming Lok Sabha election is held in a free and fair manner.
Stating that there will be 23 points in their leaflet which will be made available to the people, Prince said that the voters should not be allowed to sway by money or other insincere influences at the time of election but choose the candidate which they think IS the most qualified to represent them.
He also said that election officers and poll agents should not be intimidated nor should the EVM be tampered by colluding with the poll officials.
