Covid claims two more, TPR jumps to 4.3 pc

The State's daily positivity rate has jumped to 4.3 per cent from yesterday's 3.8 per cent as 83 people comprising of 53 CAPF personnel and 30 civilians were confirmed positive at RIMS (4), JNIMS (1) and other testing centres (78) out of 1,947 people tested for Covid-19 during the last 24 hours.
Meanwhile, two more individuals died of the virus during the last 24 hours, pushing the death toll to 1962 as per a report of the State Level Covid-19 Deaths Audit Committee.
Both the victims had co-morbidities and none of them were vaccinated.
According to a bulletin issued by Additional Director (Health) and Covid-19 Common Control Room spokesman Dr Khoirom Sasheekumar Mangang, the 30 civilians who have been tested positive belong to Imphal West (13), Imphal East (10), Thoubal (2), Bishnupur (1), Kakching (1), Churachandpur (1) and Tengnoupal (2) .
Imphal West recorded the highest positivity rate of 9.4 per cent followed by Tengnoupal 6.3 per cent.
Following recovery, 29 Covid-19 positive people were discharged during the last 24 hours from home isolation (4), JNIMS (3) and CCCs (22).The cumulative number of positive cases has reached 1,24,918 (general population 1,20,500 and Central security personnel 4,418).It includes 682 active cases (general population 613 and Central security personnel 69) and 1,22,274 recovered cases (general population 1,17,930 and Central security personnel 4,344).The recovery rate as on Sunday is 97.88 per cent.
Meanwhile, a total of 517 D-type oxygen cylinders and 122 B-type oxygen cylinders were made available to different health facilities of the State on Saturday.
The cumulative number of Covid vaccine doses administered in the State has reached 21,03,301 (first dose 12,69,817 and second dose 8,33,484) .
It includes 7565 doses administered yesterday.
Out of the State's total population, 54.24 per cent had been given the first dose of Covid vaccine while 35.60 per cent had received both the first and second doses till yesterday.
