Training on scientific rearing of pigs begins

Imphal, January 17 2022:
Directorate of Research of Central Agricultural University (CAU), Imphal in association with Manipur Progressive Piggery Farmer Association, Sagolband Bijoy Govinda inaugurated a training programme on the theme of 'Scientific Management of Pig for Sustainable Income' at the hall of Diocesan Social Services Society (DSSS), Man-tripukhri on Monday.
The inaugural function of the training programme was attended by Director of Research, CAU Dr S Basanta as chief guest; Department of Animal Sciences, College of Agriculture, CAU Head Dr Th Randhir as president and Manipur Progressive Piggery Farmer Association president N Lokendro as guest of honour.
During the technical session on the first day of the training programme, Dr Th Randhir spoke on "Emerging Challenges in Pig Farming"; Dr I Loken on "Pig Housing and their management"; NABARD DDM Kirankumar Thokchom on "Role of NABARD in Piggery"; and Dr N Muhindro on 'Feeding Management of Pigs for Profitable Income", as resource persons.
