Speaker assured discussion on 10 Kuki MLAs: Imagee Meira

Imphal, December 18 2023: Members of Imagee Meira organised a protest demonstration in front of Manipur Legislative Assembly on Monday demanding action against the 10 Kuki MLAs for their role in the attempt to disintegrate the state.

Later, some leaders of the organisation were allowed to meet the Speaker, during which they were assured that the position of the 10 Kuki MLAs will be discussed at the meeting of the assembly's Committee on Privilege and Ethics.

Interacting with the media after meeting the speaker, Imagee Meira convenor Th Sujata said that the speaker told them that process is on to convene the meeting of the Privilege and Ethics Committee by Friday and the issue of the 10 Kuki MLAs will be discussed in the meeting.

She also said that they organised the protest demanding appropriate action against the 10 Kuki MLAs and to denounce silence of the state government over the same demand.

Later, they tried to meet BJP Manipur Pradesh president A Sharda but could not meet her.

They then met MLA Nishikant Sapam, chairman of the Committee on Privilege and Ethics Committee, who also revealed about the committee's plan to discuss the matter.
