Imphal, March 14 2024:
President of Shiv Sena, State unit M Tombi has said that holding Lok Sabha elections in Manipur without resolving the issue besieging the State first would be inappropriate.
Speaking to the media at Babupara today, M Tombi said that no people who have lost their loved ones, houses or both and who have been bearing the brunt of the violence would be interested in elections.
He appealed to the Centre and the State Government to put maximum effort to restore normalcy in the State first.
Saying that Shiv Sena doesn't have any interest in Lok Sabha elections, M Tombi appealed to all concerned to refrain from engaging in petty politics with an eye on the Parliamentary election.
About the arrest of three cadres of Pambei led UNLF by NIA yesterday, M Tombi claimed that the three cadres played a big role in defending the houses and properties of civilians in the course of violence in Manipur.
Reminding that Pambei led UNLF had signed a peace agreement with the Government on November 29 last year at New Delhi, M Tombi demanded unconditional release of all three arrested cadres.
