KCP cautions
Source: The Sangai Express

Imphal, November 16 2023: The proscribed KCP has asked three to cease their betel leaves business through Churachandpur by paying huge amounts of money to Kuki-Zo narco-terrorist elements.

The shots fired at the gate of Kongkham Bung Singh of Nagamapal Soram Leirak on the night of November 13, 2023 were meant as the last warning against his involvement in smuggling betel leaves through Churachandpur by regularly paying huge amounts of money to Churachandpur-based Kuki-Zo narco-terrorist elements, said a press release issued by the outfit's information and public relations department deputy secretary M Punsiba Meitei.

The party has repeatedly warned everyone not to 'finance' Kuki-Zo narco-terrorist elements in the name of doing business in or through Kuki-Zo dominated areas of Manipur.

Despite those public communiques and repeated warnings over the phone to stop smuggling betel leaves through Churachandpur by regularly paying lakhs of rupees to Churachandpur-based Kuki-Zo narco-terrorist elements, Kongkham Bung Singh, Kongkham Sanajaoba Singh of Utlou, who is a surrendered militant now working as a driver of Manipur Police Department, Md Khalid of Kwakta, Bishnupur and their gang are still indulging in the above activity, it alleged.

The money this gang contributes regularly to Kuki-Zo narco-terrorist elements is beyond an iota of doubt used to purchase arms and ammunition and train their recruits to attack the Meitei civilians who have been at the receiving end of repeated violent assaults since 3rd May this year.

Instead of paying heed to our repeated warnings, the gang offered to contribute some money regularly to the KCP by claiming that other groups are being paid on a regular basis.

"But the party turned the offer down as we, the KCP, will never accept anything that can work to the advantage of Kuki-Zo narco-terrorist elements in any manner whatsoever", it said.

Kongkham Bung Singh, Kongkham Sanajaoba Singh, Md Khalid and their gang have consciously acted against the safety and security of the Meitei community and also the territorial integrity of Kangleipak by paying huge amounts of money to Kuki-Zo narco-terrorist elements for the sake of their betel leaves business, it said.

"So if they do not cease indulging in the betel leaves business through Churachandpur by paying huge amounts of money to Kuki-Zo narco-terrorist elements, the party reserves the power to give them befitting punishment", it added.
