Tiger Woods win Senapati Amateurs Football Tournament

Senapati, April 24 2022:
The first ever Senapati Amateurs Football Tournament that began on April 21 concluded on Sunday at Turf Ground, Zamning Valley, Senapati.
Out of 16 teams participated at the tournament from different places of the state, Tiger Woods from Imphal bagged the championship title with a 3-1 win over Senapati FC in the final match played on Sunday afternoon.
The tournament was organised by Harmony Foundation, which is a body founded to establish social cohesion between various communities and work towards a progressive society.
The closing programme of the tournament was graced by Karthik Malladi, IPS, SO, Senapati as the chief guest and Joram Koveo Woba, president, Senapati District Olympic Association, Manipur (SDOAM), CEO & Founder, Senapati FC as the guest of honour.
Speaking on the occasion, Joram Koveo Woba stated that he was overjoyed to witness players from different places of the state, which is a boost and encouragement for all players.
The SDOAM president also encouraged organisers To continue organising such tournament to encourage and promote the talented youths of the district and state who lack platform and exposure to help them play at higher level.
Koveo also expressed happiness many youths from Senapati are playing for different football clubs at state, national and international competitions.
He was also hopeful that many local players could become successful by constructing many turf grounds in the district.
Speaking as chief guest, Karthik Malladi lauded the organisers to have organised such tournament as a tool to bring harmony in the district and state.
He assured his support in bringing peace and harmony among different communities.
The SP also wished that Zamning valley would become a tourist hotspot of the country.
The best player award was given to Henry Kamei of Tiger Woods, highest scorer award went to Samson Sekho of Tiger Woods and Senapati FC Academy were named the most disciplined team.
