Thoubal, April 24 2022:
The 34th conference of Communist Party of India (CPI) Thoubal Local Council was held at District Library cum Youth Centre, Thoubal Athokpam Awang Leikai on Sunday.
The conference, which deliberated on various programmes conducted by the Council in past one year and on upcoming activities, was attended by CPI National Executive Member Dr M Nara, Thoubal Council executive member H Noren, MSC/CPI state secretariat member S Sorojini, secretary L Sotinkumar and CPI Thoubal District secretary E Sharat as presidium members.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr M Nara contended that contesting election is not the only work of the party and stressed that the party cadres should not remain silent when a country like India which is home to many communities and religions is forced with the notion of 'one religion, one language, one nation'.
It is time for all the like-minded parties to join hands and oppose this communal force.
Campaign should be held to raise awareness among public about the danger of such communal forces, he exhorted.
The conference resolved that the party will contest the upcoming Thoubal Municipal Council election, work for providing water supply connection to households, address issues besetting the students, rebuild the party's mass front and spread the ideology of the party among the people.
