Stationeries distributed, village sanitised

Imphal, April 24 2022:
Tamei Battalion of Red Shield Division under of Spear Corps organised a book distribution and awareness programme for local students of Tamei at Sharon Hostel to mark the World Book and English Language Day.
According to PRO (Defence), the stationary items were provided to more than 90 students of various hostels located in Tamei.
The students also demonstrated their skills and talent in musical and cultural events.
Meanwhile, 44 AR of 22 Sector/IGAR (East), organised a two-day cleanliness drive at Chalwa village in Kangpokpi district to commemorate National Panchayati Rai Dav on Sunday.
In another release, the PRO informed that the day is observed to honour the efforts and contributions of various village panchayats in the socio-economic development at the grassroots levels.
The main aim of the cleanliness drive was to motivate the local population about the importance of cleanliness and give a push to Swachh Bharat Abhiyan.
The event organised in close coordination with the village authorities of Chalwa was also participated by school going children and locals along with village authorities.
