STDCM annual meet sticks to demand

Scheduled Tribe Demand Committee Manipur (STDCM) has convened its annual meet for the year 2021-22 at Thangmeiband Athletic Union (THAU) hall on Sunday.
The meeting was attended by STDCM president Dhiraj Yumnam, chief patron Moi-rangthem Naodalenkhomba, advisor Prof Huidrom Jayantakumar and senior member Dr Khomdon Lisham as presidium members.
The meeting read out the annual report of the committee and also passed its annual expenditures.
It also unanimously resolved in changing some executives of the committee for the term 2023.The main executives of the committee are Dhiraj Yumnam as president; Laishram Lokendra as working president; Sinam Manglem, Sapam Bheigya and Keisham Lokeshwar as vice presidents of STDCM.
The executive committee further allowed changing of some other executives who could not get actively involved in the works of the committee due to personal problems by members of the STDCM.
During the open discussion conducted as a part of the meet, the participants asserted that the government should work by considering the sentiments of the indigenous Meetei/ Meitei community.
It should be remembered that the inclusion of Meetei/Meitei in ST list is related to the life and death situation of the community.
The meeting highlighted the dire need of joining hands to collectively exert pressure to the government in the right way.
