Indian Muaythai in Olympic recognized Games created history

Sandham had successfully represented India with his nine-member Indian Muaythai Team to the Games held from September 26 � October 1, 2008 at Sajik Stadium, Busan, South Korea.
For the first time in 1998, he successfully led Indian Muaythai Team in the 13th Asian Games, Bangkok, when Muaythai was for the first time introduced.
Again he was nominated as only Jury from India in the 24th SEA Games held in Korat, Thailand in 2007 and he led his team in the Games.
It may be mentioned that three players out of nine-member Indian Muaythai Team participated in the 2008 Busan World Sports For All Games held from September 26 � October 1, 2008 at Sajik Stadium, Busan, South Korea, won one silver and two bronze medals.
Deepti Pant of Uttarakhand bagged Silver while Meenakshi Adhikari of Uttarakhand and G Marempu Kabui of Manipur won bronze medals.
Their winning medals in this 2008 Busan World Sports For All Games from September 26 � October 1, 2008 in the discipline of Muaythai assumed significance as the Games was held under the direct patronage of the International Olympic Committee (IOC).

Indian Muaythai Team under the leadership of Oken Jeet Sandham has created history as his team could represent India in the Olympic recognized Games for the third time.
This time, the Indian Muaythai team from the Muaythai Federation of India (MFI) was recognized and approved by the Organizing Committee of 2008 Busan World Sports For All Games under the direct patronage of the International Olympic Committee (IOC), highest sporting body in the world, to represent India.
