Under the aegis of Wildlife Wing of the Forest Department, the 53rd Wild Life Week was observed at the conference hall of the Forest Department here today.
Speaking at the occasion, Principal Chief Conservator of Forest S Singsit who presided over the function informed that Wildlife Institute of India, Dehradun has been currently conducting a research on the genetic, ecology and socio-economic aspects of Keibul Lamjao National Park and Sangai.
Chief guest of the function, Principal Secretary of Forest and Environment PC Lawmkunga called upon the people for paying more attention in protection of wildlife and environment.
Along with reading out the message of the Prime Minister given on the occasion of Wildlife Week observance, prizes of the on the spot essay writing and drawing competition held earlier were presented at the occasion.
