Coming out with the investigation report, Chief Medical Officer of Tamenglong District Dr Chambo Gonmei has ruled out outbreak of Malaria at Kuilong Part-I, II, II and Makuinong villages under Tamei sub-division in Tamenglong district.
In the report submitted to the Director of Health Services, the CMO said that following the news report on outbreak of suspected Malaria in Kuilong Part-I, II, III and Makuinong villages, a medical team (Rapid Response Team) led by MO in-charge of PHC Tamei Dr Guidiathiu proceeded to the said villages for spot inquiry on September 23 .
After the inquiry, it was found out that with exception to some chronic cases like cough, cold, backache and other ailments, there were no serious cases among the patients.
Some patients suffering from fever were also tested for Pf Malaria by Rapid Testing method but all of them were found negative of Malaria.
At the same time, blood smears were also collected for examining at the State Malaria Department.
Free treatment was also given to all the patients examined by the team, the CMO said, adding that containment measures have been taken up accordingly.
