Although negotiation is going on at the level of national leaders for political tie-up between the BJP and MPP in the State, the two parties have sharp differences on seat sharing.
On the other hand, the BJP State unit has invited BJP president Rajnath Singh and Opposition leader LK Advani to grace its State level party conference scheduled for November by either one of them.
Talking to The Sangai Express, an eminent leader of the BJP State unit conveyed that it would be good to all concerned if the talk for political alliance between BJP national leaders and MPP leaders turn out to be a success.
However, the sharp difference between the two parties over seat sharing still persist, he disclosed.
Many resolutions to field its candidates in both the Parliamentary seats of Outer Manipur and Inner Manipur, adopted in BJP State unit meetings in connection with the Parliamentary election scheduled in the early part of next year with the knowledge of BJP national leaders have also been forwarded.
The impasse between the two parties results from the BJP's intention to field its candidates in both the Parliamentary seats while the MPP is also determined to field its own candidate in the Inner Parliamentary seat.
With regard to the prevailing impasse, there has been no instruction from the BJP national leaders, conveyed the BJP State unit executive.
As per instructions from the Centre to start preparing for the Parliamentary election, a meeting of the election campaign and management committee, specifically constituted for the forthcoming elections, was held on September 30.During the meeting divided into two sessions, it was decided to organise political workers' conference from Mandal level to district level for one month starting from October 1.The State unit has also invited BJP president Rajnath Singh or Opposition leader LK Advani to attend the State level party workers' conference scheduled in November, he added.
